Grandma Always There

*Dedicated to Violet S. - June 7th 2005*

Graham cracker cookies, frosting on my nose
slippers flip flopping, cover up her toes
cinnamon spices, wafting through the air
summers spent laughing, Grandma always there

Bicycle crashes, falling from trees
Iodine hurts, on skinned up knees
shag carpet static, zapping everywhere
summers spent laughing, Grandma always there

Carrots and brocoli, she makes me eat peas
no more green beans, I hate them please
run through the sprinkler, on a double dare
summers spent laughing, Grandma always there

Apple pie ice cream, home made not the store
strong at heart giving, hugs and always more
cherry bombs, sparklers, flying through the air
summers spent laughing, Grandma always there

Love was her answer, her home an open door
missing her madly, I'll miss her ever more
joyous are my memories, I hold her love dear
summers spent laughing, Grandma always Here
